چکیده

Quality seedlings production is one of the most important steps in cultivation vegetable species. In this sense, objective was to evaluate influence different environments and substrates on “pimenta-de-cheiro” (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) Boa Vista, Roraima. An experiment installed a completely randomized design (CRD), with treatmentsarranged subdivided plots. Five were evaluated: AG - agricultural greenhouse; TV35 red shading net 35% (red ChromatiNet®); TV50 50% TP35 silver (ChromatiNet® silver) TP50 four substrates: O -OrganoAmazon®; OP OrganoAmazon® PuroHumus®; OPSE (OrganoAmazon®, PuroHumus®, soil manure) OPSEC soil, manure carbonized rice husk). On nets, C. Chinense grown substrate showed high Dickson’s quality index (DQI). The combination greenhouse (EA) promoted superior Capsicum seedlings. are more affordable alternatives for Shading associated alternative substrates, do not favor under Amazon savanna conditions.

In vitro micropropagation of Capsicum Chinense Jacq. (Naga King Chili)

An in vitro micropropagation protocol was developed for Capsicum chinense Jacq. popularly known as habenaro pepper which is one of the world’s hottest chilli and it is a traditional food item of the Naga people. Nagaland is believed to be the original home for the chilli pepper. The Guinness book of World record has awarded this chilli as hottest one as it contains 1,041,427 Scoville Heat units...

Endogenous GUS-like activity in Capsicum chinense Jacq

The gene uidA, codes for β-glucuronidase, which is one of the reporters more frequently utilized in transgenic plants. However, this can only be use if the selected organism does not present endogenous GUS-like activity. In tissues of C. chinense we found a GUS-like activity showing different levels of intensity. Histochemical screening showed that endogenous GUSlike activity decreased, or redu...

Understanding the Physiological Responses of a Tropical Crop (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) at High Temperature

Temperature is one of the main environmental factors involved in global warming and has been found to have a direct effect on plants. However, few studies have investigated the effect of higher temperature on tropical crops. We therefore performed an experiment with a tropical crop of Habanero pepper (Capsicum Chinense Jacq.). Three growth chambers were used, each with 30 Habanero pepper plants...

Transferability of microsatellite markers of Capsicum annuum L. to C. frutescens L. and C. chinense Jacq.

In order to support further genetic, diversity, and phylogeny studies of Capsicum species, the transferability of a Capsicum annuum L. simple sequence repeat (SSR) microsatellite set was analyzed for C. frutescens L. ("malagueta" and "tabasco" peppers) and C. chinense Jacq. (smell peppers, among other types). A total of 185 SSR primers were evaluated in 12 accessions from 115 C. frutescens L. a...

Molecular Cloning and Functional Analysis of a Na+-Insensitive K+ Transporter of Capsicum chinense Jacq

High-affinity K+ (HAK) transporters are encoded by a large family of genes and are ubiquitous in the plant kingdom. These HAK-type transporters participate in low- and high-affinity potassium (K+) uptake and are crucial for the maintenance of K+ homeostasis under hostile conditions. In this study, the full-length cDNA of CcHAK1 gene was isolated from roots of the habanero pepper (Capsicum chine...
